A heat exchanger that preheat combustion air by using the exhaust heat of boilers, industrial kilns or other power, metallurgical, chemical and other devices. The functions are as follows: 1) reduce the exhaust gas temperature of boiler and other equipment to improve the thermal efficiency; 2) increase the temperature of combustion air to make the fuel easy to heat, stabilize the combustion and improve the combustion efficiency.
According to the different structures, air preheaters are mainly divided into tubular, plate and rotary type.

1.In the tubular air preheater, the main flue gas passes through the tube from top to bottom to continuously transfer the heat to the air flowing outside the tube. Tubular air preheater is used in medium and small boilers.
2.The plate type air preheater is composed of multi-layer plates. The flue gas and air flow through the channels between the plates respectively, which has been rarely used.
3.In the rotary air preheater, the heating surface is composed of many corrugated steel sheets, and the flue gas and air flow through the heating surface alternately.

What are the functions of Air Pre-heater System for Industrial Boiler?
(1) Absorb waste heat of exhaust gas to improve boiler efficiency. After installing the economizer, although the exhaust gas temperature can be reduced a lot, the feed water temperature of the utility boiler is mostly higher than 200 ºC. Therefore, it is impossible to lower the exhaust gas temperature, and the exhaust gas temperature can be further reduced after installing the air preheater.
(2) Increasing air temperature can enhance combustion. On the one hand, it can make the combustion stable and reduce the mechanical incomplete combustion loss and chemical incomplete combustion loss; on the other hand, it can make the coal easy to burn completely and reduce the amount of excess air, so as to reduce the smoke exhaust loss and fan power consumption.
(3) Increasing the air temperature can increase the temperature of combustion chamber and enhance the radiation heat transfer.
