Compared with gasket plate heat exchanger which normally can handle the working temperature at maximum 180ºC, the fully welded plate heat exchanger with its unique structure is capable of working under much higher temperature at maximum 350ºC.
Main components and structure of a fully welded plate heat exchanger
As what is shown in the above figure, many pieces of stainless steel plates are welded to each other to form a plate bundle, which is the heat transfer core of the welded plate heat exchanger. The plate bundle is connected to four vertical columns also by welding and then covered by two cover plates and four blind plates. Between the plate bundle and the blind plate, four pieces of sealing gaskets are used to make the plate bundle a completely enclosed unit to prevent the equipment from any leakage.
Four blind plates are detachable, so the heat exchanger can be opened easily to clean the inside bundle.
