Product Description
Plate and Shell Heat Exchanger combine the benefits of traditional heat exchangers. Utilising a fully welded plate pack within a strong shell construction makes it the most compact, thermally efficient and cost effective heat transfer solution for many applications in the Chemical, Petrochemcial, Pharmaceutical & Process industries.
This high efficiency allows Tranter to design units with a 1ºC temperature approach. Another benefit is the small hold-up volume which offers fast start-up times and close following of process changes.
Structure:
1. The round plate and shell heat exchanger contains a round plate pack in which the "herringbone" pattern is pressed into each plate. The products pass through the port holes and into the gap between the plates. The heat transfer takes place when the warmer product transfers energy through the flow plates and delivers it to the colder opposing product without mixing the both products.
2. The "herringbone" pattern ensures turbulent flow within the effective area. Furthermore, this pattern brings "metallic" contact between the plates, then optimal differential pressure is achieved.
3. The plate pack is firmly fixed into the round shell
